Discover an easier way to build learning pathways
More than 42 million digital badges have been awarded so far. These badges recognise learning - and not just formal learning, but all kinds of valuable and impactful achievements. For a learner, however, receiving a digital badge is only one part of their journey.
In the last year, unprecedented changes to how we work and learn gave rise to several questions from both employers and learning providers alike
These include:
How do I engage and motivate my learners and employees remotely?
How can a learner demonstrate the variety of skills, knowledge and attitudes required to help us move collectively towards our goals and the future?
How can we show that our learners are making tangible progress on that journey?
Badge Pathways are our answer to these common questions.
Badge Pathways: helping learners take the next step
People receive badges because they have taken action. And by making the next step in their learning journey clear, we can then inspire them to move forward and help them to implement their learning in a practical way.
That’s why we’re introducing Badge Pathways on Navigatr, a place for learners to explore the next step in their learning journey and find out where it might take them, all in one page.
In this view, learners can find the next recommended activities in their journey as they work towards their goal or even find their own route.
Seeing the Pathway is the first step towards remotely connecting and engaging with self-paced learning.
For learners, following a Pathway means building a profile that demonstrates their progress and showcases a strong motivation to develop their skillset.
For providers and employers, a Pathway means building and showcasing how they engage learners and how they support them in working towards a clear goal, whether that be developing new skills, unlocking new work opportunities or engaging in further learning.
In the same way that Digital Badges differ from traditional methods of recognition, Pathways are also distinct from conventional educational reward systems. The main objective of a Pathway is to discover positive, inspirational and educational opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for the future.
Pathways are also saveable, actionable and long-lasting, so they can be discovered over time. Learners can save Pathways and discover even more ideas that might inspire their next learning endeavour.
Pathways that include badges
Learners who have already earned a badge will receive a notification so they can see the next steps in their Learning Journey. Their progress, as well as their completed Pathways, can be shared from the Learners profile.
Learners can find and discover pathways now and existing providers can already access the pathway builder on Navigatr.
